We kindly ask you to clarify the following aspects:

Considering the required technical characteristics for the base chassis of the special vehicle which direct to Unimog brand only and the fact that the respective producer does not have an official national representative 1 in Republic of Moldova authorized for ensuring the maintenance and warranty for this specific brand – Unimog, as it is required under point 3.1.3 of the Technical Specification Document, we kindly ask you to accept that the required maintenance and warranty services for the base chassis to be performed by official representatives for Unimog 2 on the territory of Romania.

1 – the official representative of Mercedes Benz in Republic of Moldova is authorized for maintenance and warranty services only for Mercedes Benz Trucks and not for Unimog. As it can be seen, under the section “Unimog” of the above mentioned site, there is no authorized representative in Republic of Moldova for performing maintenance and warranty services for Unimog chassis.

Considering that the Contracting Authority accepts the above proposal, our company will perform the maintenance and warranty services for the superstructure and the firefighting equipment as follows:
- Remotely for minor service incidents.
- On-site with the mobile service units or at the our factory for general and/or regular checking and technical inspection.

We are a Romanian authorized producer of firefighting vehicles having the Technical Certification issued by the Romanian Auto Registry (www.rarom.ro), having Authorization issued by the Romanian National Center for Fire Safety and Civil Protection (Ministry of Internal Affairs – General Inspectorate of Emergency Situations) for Maintenance of Special Installations of the Special Firefighting Vehicles. We are also certified for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 standards.

We confirm that we accept your proposal for the maintenance and warranty services for the Unimog base chassis to be carried out by the official Unimog representatives in Romania, given the current absence of an authorized representative for this brand on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

We also acknowledge your company’s capability to provide maintenance and warranty services for the superstructure and firefighting equipment, both remotely for minor interventions and on-site for general checks or periodic technical inspections.

Good day,

We kindly ask you to consider and evaluate the following:

1. Regarding the requirement 3.1.1 “Vehicle category: N3SG (...), type of car weighting up to 12 tons.”

We would like to offer a Unimog chassis that is suitable for the forest firefighting application but it has the weight of 12,5 tones (GVW). We kindly ask you to accept this weight for the chassis.


2. Regarding the requirement 3.2.1.3. “Fuel tank with a minimum capacity of 150 liters“

The Unimog fuel tank capacity available with the double cabin chassis is 145 liters gross, and 135 liters net. We kindly ask you to accept this capacity for the fuel tank.


3. Regarding the requirement 3.2.7.3. “Two maintenance-free batteries”.

Considering the requirements related to fire protections for cables and other electrical elements, Unimog chassis comes with 2 batteries x 12V/170Ah, with reduced maintenance routine. We kindly ask you to accept this option.


4. Regarding the requirement 3.2.7.5 “All electrical system cables (...) shall be halogen free.”

We kindly ask you to detail the reference “halogen free” for the electrical system cables.


5. Regarding the requirement 3.2.8.2 “All vehicle headlights and lamps shall be LED only, (...).”

The model of Unimog we would like to offer has the following lights available: day lights are LED, headlights are bi-halogen, fog lights are halogen. We kindly ask you to accept this light system as described. Unimog models do not have other option at the current date.


6. Regarding the requirement 3.2.9.6: “Windows, doors and windshield shall have thermally insulated glass.”

According to the technical sheet available at the present moment for the Unimog model, the windshield is clearly specified as having thermal insulation for the glass and no distinct specification for doors and windows glasses. We kindly ask you to accept the modification of the requirement to “At least windshield shall have thermally insulated glass”.


7. Regarding the requirement 3.2.9.9. “Sun visors mounted on the interior and exterior of the windshield”.

The Unimog model we would like to offer has only a factory mounted interior sun visor and no exterior one. As general mention the exterior sun visors are made of plastic which makes them incompatible with the scope of the final vehicle: forest firefighting vehicle. We kindly ask you to accept the modification of the requirement to “Sun visors mounted on the interior of the windshield”.


8. Regarding the requirement 3.2.9.19. “Satellite navigation system based on GPS or Galileo with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, with updated maps of the Republic of Moldova and Europe. With maps updating capability by the owner of the vehicle.”

The Unimog model we would like to offer has no option for a factory mounted Satellite navigation system based on GPS or Galileo with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. We kindly ask you to accept a separate GPS system with the maps of Republic of Moldova and Europe, that will be installed in a secure position in the driver cabin. The owner of the vehicle will have the possibility to update the maps.

Thank you for submitting your observations and proposals. Following the technical analysis, we inform you that we cannot approve the indicated modifications. We request full compliance with the technical requirements specified in the technical specifications, as these are mandatory.

Regarding point 4 of the clarification you submitted, “halogen-free” refers to cables made of LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) materials, which do not contain halogen compounds and which, in the event of a fire, do not emit toxic smoke or corrosive gases.

We kindly ask you to consider and re-evaluate the following aspects considering the fact that there is no available
chassis to comply fully with the requirements:
1. Regarding the requirement 3.1.1 “Vehicle category: N3SG (...), type of car weighting up to 12 tons.”
We would like to offer a Unimog chassis that is suitable for the forest firefighting application but it has the weight of
12,5 tones (GVW). We kindly ask you to accept this weight for the chassis. According to the actual legislation of
Republic of Moldova, N3 class is for vehicles above 12 tons. Please see link with the details:

din 08-11-1999, Annex 1 - point .1.3.3”. We kindly ask you to accept this proposal.
2. Regarding the requirement 3.2.1.3. “Fuel tank with a minimum capacity of 150 liters“
The Unimog fuel tank capacity available with the double cabin chassis is 145 liters gross, and 135 liters net. The
producer of Unimog cannot install a fuel tank of minimum 150 liters on a chassis with a double cabin because of the
space available. This option is possible only with simple cabin chassis which is not the case in this tender. We kindly
ask you to accept this capacity for the fuel tank: 145 liters gross, and 135 liters net.
3. Regarding the requirement 3.2.7.3. “Two maintenance-free batteries”.
Considering the requirements related to fire protections for cables and other electrical elements, Unimog chassis

this alternative for the respective chassis. We kindly ask you to accept this option.
